Ibrahima Konate dilemma is obvious as Liverpool and Arne Slot face huge transfer decision

Image
Incoming Liverpool manager Arne Slot has some important decisions to make over his squad this summer. It is not only in attack where Liverpool are faced with big decisions over members of their squad this summer For all the talk over the futures of Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz, far little has been said regarding how the Reds should address their glaring issues in the centre-back position in the coming weeks. Aside from Virgil van Dijk, who has performed to a consistent level throughout the campaign, Liverpool have not experienced the same joy from those who have partnered the Dutchman during the course of the season. Joel Matip was enjoying an effective run in the team up until December, at which point he suffered a serious ACL setback to rule him out until May, forcing Klopp to reconsider his plans in this position. Earning a first start in a 3-1 away win at Wolves, Jarell Quansah offered a glimpse of his quality and has gone on to represent the club a total of 33 t...

Liverpool impressed by how £51m player starred against them, they want to sign him now

Image
Liverpool are beginning to ramp up their plans for Arne Slot’s first transfer window in charge. Slot is set to follow Jurgen Klopp as the Reds new manager, with only an official announcement now waiting. Once the Dutchman is in situ, focus will turn to what Liverpool can do in the market. A couple of positions are already said to be at the top of the Reds’ list. Fabrizio Romano has claimed that a centre-back will be targeted, while David Ornstein says a wide forward is also on the agenda. As well as those two positions though, you’d imagine that Liverpool may also be looking at bolstering their midfield again. With Wataru Endo seemingly up for sale, defensive midfield is certainly an area that should be addressed. And with that in mind, Liverpool are said to be targeting a player who impressed against them recently. Liverpool downed by West Ham flop as Atalanta capitalise on performance Klopp can’t afford in PL

Image
Atalanta were not bothered by the Anfield aura as they took advantage of a dismal performance from Liverpool, with West Ham flop Gianluca Scamacca popping up with two goals in a huge 3-0 win for the Italians. Liverpool have not particularly played well in a lot of their wins this season, with Premier League clubs often succumbing to the Anfield intimidation factor, but the Reds did not have that psychological boost over Atalanta on Thursday evening. The Serie A side simply did not care about Liverpool or Anfield’s reputation, taking the game to a Reds team that Jurgen Klopp majorly switched up. Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Andy Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Conor Bradley all started on the bench and Atalanta knew they had a chance to take the game to their hosts. Mario Palasic missed a sitter in the opening minutes, smashing the ball off of Caoimhin Kelleher’s face from close range and almost lived to regret the miss when Darwin Nunez cocked u...

Salah was being discussed on talkSPORT Drive following the news that the Saudi Pro League would once again try and lure him to the Middle East. It comes a year after Liverpool rejected a £150m offer for him, with the moneybags league thought to be readying a similar offer for a player who will soon have 12 months to run on his contract. “I think his record speaks for itself,” Ince, who played for Liverpool from 1995 to 1997, said when asked about whether Salah can be considered world class. “Is he a world-class player? Technically, I wouldn’t say so. “I think sometimes when he cuts in on his left foot, putting balls into the box, they are not great. “But as a far as a world-class player scoring goals and making things happen, I think yes,” Ince stated. Salah signed for Liverpool in the summer of 2017, joining from Roma, where he stunned the Premier L...
