Arteta Confident Arsenal Will Eventually Win Premier League Title Despite Man City's Dominance
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed unwavering determination that his team will eventually secure the Premier League title, despite Manchester City's recent dominance in English football, according to a report by Vanguard.
Following Arsenal's second consecutive runner-up finish to Manchester City, Arteta remained resolute in his belief that the Gunners are on the right trajectory to challenge for the league crown. City clinched the title with a narrow two-point margin over Arsenal, sealing their fourth consecutive Premier League triumph and sixth in the last seven years.
Arteta, who previously served as Pep Guardiola's assistant during City's record-breaking 2017-18 season, understands firsthand the level of commitment and excellence required to achieve success in the Premier League. Speaking after Arsenal's final-day victory over Everton, which ultimately proved futile in the title race due to City's concurrent win against West Ham, Arteta acknowledged the disappointment but also emphasized the progress made by his squad.
"First of all, congrats to Manchester City for winning the Premier League," Arteta acknowledged in his post-match interview with SkySports. "Today, there are mixed emotions. I am incredibly proud of our staff and players. They have given their all and pushed every limit to try to win this Premier League."
Despite falling short once again, Arteta remains undeterred in his ambition for Arsenal to reclaim the league title. "There's only one way to do it – you have to be more determined, more ambitious, and have the courage to push every limit," he declared. "If we continue knocking and remain this close, we will eventually win it. When? I don't know, but we are on the right path."
Reflecting on his time at Manchester City, Arteta highlighted the level of excellence required to compete at the highest level. "I was there when we achieved 100 points," he recalled. "I know what it takes, and I know the level required. We need to maintain this standard not just for one season, but consistently."
Arteta expressed confidence in Arsenal's progress under his stewardship, noting the rapid evolution of the team. "We are on the right trajectory," he affirmed. "Now, we must continue to push forward because we are hungry for more."
