A £34m striker, who has been hailed as superior to Erling Haaland, is now being encouraged to make a move to Arsenal this summer.

Following their failure to secure the Premier League title, Arsenal appears to be gearing up for a busy transfer window.

Despite Kai Havertz’s impressive record of scoring nine goals in his last 14 Premier League games, Arteta is anticipated to strengthen his attacking options in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Several players have already been linked with a potential move to the Emirates Stadium, including Alexander Isak, Brian Brobbey, and Joshua Zirkzee.

Former Crystal Palace manager, Frank de Boer, has expressed his preference for Zirkzee to join Arsenal.

In an interview with Calciomercato, De Boer was questioned about his desired destination for Bologna’s Zirkzee this summer.

I hold Arsenal in high regard due to their patience and trust in their players. This is evident in their support for Arteta, despite his initial struggles. Unlike some other clubs, Arsenal gives their managers time to prove themselves. Additionally, Arteta has performed exceptionally well in the past two years, and Inter is also experiencing success.

If I had to choose, I would prefer Arsenal because of their willingness to wait and have faith in their team.

Zirkzee is currently in high demand, with Arsenal showing interest in signing him. He recently reached out to Jurrien Timber after his compatriot’s return to first-team action against Everton. However, Juventus is also expressing interest in the striker, who has been hailed as ‘better than Erling Haaland’.

Under Mikel Arteta’s guidance, the Gunners displayed an impressive performance during the run-in, only dropping points in two games throughout 2024.

However, with Manchester City’s dominance, Arsenal will need to make improvements in order to surpass them in the upcoming season.

Zirkzee, who has scored 12 goals in 37 matches for Bologna this season, has also provided seven assists.

It is rumored that his contract with the Serie A team includes a release clause of £34 million, which might attract clubs like Arsenal.
