Kylian Mbappe confirms transfer decision after Mikel Arteta Arsenal admission and Chelsea trial

After seven years with Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappe has announced that he will be leaving the team at the end of the current campaign. It follows several seasons of rumors about the Frenchman’s potential transfer, which included links to both Chelsea and Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta teased the media earlier this year when he stated that his side would need to be “in the conversation” in order to sign Mbappe. Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino have managed him in the French capital, where he underwent trial periods at Chelsea.

The 25-year-old announced his intention to leave the Parc des Princes in a video that was uploaded to the internet on Friday night. He wrote “MERCI. [red and blue circle emojis]”.

Mbappe sat down to publicly discuss his decision to depart, introducing himself as “Hello, everyone, this is Kylian. I had something to say to you. I wanted to let you all know that this is my final year at Paris Saint-Germain, as I always promised to talk to you when the time came.

“I won’t prolong, and in a few weeks the adventure will come to an end. On Saturday, I’ll play my final match at Parc des Princes. Many emotions are involved.”

After making it apparent to PSG that he would not be staying at the team until 2025, as had been planned with his contract extension, Mbappe has become the subject of intense interest in recent years. Prior to the start of the new season, he was kept apart from Luis Enrique last summer and was not included in the planning.
