Not Toney, not Sesko: Arteta urged to sign £100m-rated striker for Arsenal.
As the Premier League season draws to a close, Arsenal find themselves within the chance of lifting the title, but should that fail to happen, the Gunners remain very focused on continuing building their future.
The Gunners have had a remarkable season, showing significant progress under the guidance of Spanish gaffer, Mikel Arteta. The team’s improvement is evident in their cohesive play, robust defence, and a more consistent goal-scoring record.
Being in the fight for their first Premier League title in 20 years is a testament to their hard work and development over the past few years. However, it would be another sad end should they fail to win the major prize.
Nevertheless, the close fight with current league champions and leaders highlights that Mikel Arteta's side are on the right path to win that prize in the nearest future, if they don't do that this season.
Arsenal legend Paul Merson believes signing a quality striker will help the Gunners win the EPL title and has backed Mikel Arteta to go all in for the signature of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.
Paul Merson believes that Isak has the qualities to move Arsenal to the next level, as he is better than any striker they currently have at their disposal.
Writing in his column for SportsKeeda, the pundit said “They (Newcastle) are a massive team, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some of their stars moved on to win trophies. If Arsenal sign a striker like Isak, I think they go to another level.”
Why Isak?
Alexander Isak has shown once again this season how good he is in front of goal. Despite facing injury challenges, the Sweden international is poised to finish as the second-highest-scoring striker in the Premier League, behind Erling Braut Haaland.
His prowess in front of goal makes him a very wanted asset for any top team, as he can easily hit double figures with the right support and delivery.
However, signing Isak won't come cheap, with reports claiming that the former Real Sociedad man could cost around £100m.
