Paul Merson says Arsenal have one player who hasn't had a bad game all season

There have been a number of quality signings in the Premier League this term.

Cole Palmer has basically been a one man army at Chelsea, Alexis Mac Allister has been excellent for Liverpool, while Mohammed Kudus has lit up the London Stadium for West Ham.

However, writing for SportsKeeda, Paul Merson has named Arsenal’s Declan Rice as the signing of the season, claiming that the midfielder has taken Arsenal to another level and has been at least a 7/10 in every single game he has played this term.

Arsenal latest signing Declan Rice at London Colney on July 15, 2023 in St Albans, England.

Declan Rice hasn’t had a bad game

Merson spoke highly of Rice when naming him as Signing of the Season.

“Signing of the Season: Declan Rice – He’s taken Arsenal to another level and has been at least a 7/10 in every Premier League game this season,” Merson wrote.

Merson is right, it’s hard to remember a single game in which Declan Rice hasn’t been solid.

Fulham away may be the only example where Rice has been less than a 7/10, but other than that he has been absolutely stellar.

The England international has taken to life at Arsenal like a duck to water, and he’s really elevated the Gunners to that next level.

Unfortunately, Rice’s debut season at Arsenal is likely to end without a Premier League trophy, but if the midfielder’s former club, West Ham, can do Arsenal a favour and get a result against Manchester City this weekend, then Arsenal could still end up as champions.

Whether they win the league or not, Arsenal’s capture of Rice this summer has to be considered one of the best signings of the season in the Premier League.

Arsenal will play against Everton in their final Premier League game and they have received a boost ahead of this game. Arsenal fans have received a much-needed confidence boost ahead of their crucial final Premier League clash against Everton on Sunday. The reason? History. The Gunners have scored a staggering 122 goals against Everton, more than any other team against a single opponent in Premier League history. This statistic comes as a ray of hope for Arsenal, who currently sit in second place with 86 points, just two points behind reigning champions Manchester City. The Gunners secured a vital 1-0 victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford in their previous game, keeping their title hopes alive. However, with Manchester City also facing a seemingly less challenging opponent in West Ham for their final game, the pressure is on for Arsenal to deliver a convincing performance at the Emirates. The historical dominance over Everton could be a psychological advantage for Mik...

Carragher, who is renowned for his frank and perceptive commentary, showed no restraint in his praise, speculating that Saka’s lack of playing for a prominent team like Manchester City is the reason fans undervalue his abilities. Carragher said, “Some people underrate him because he is not in the Manchester City team.” “But I have to admit, he passes the ball more skillfully than De Bruyne and Rodri. Fans will never fully understand him now, but there is no denying his talent. Football fans and commentators have been talking about Carragher’s statement a lot. Most people agree that Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri are two of the best passers in the Premier League.
