Report: Arsenal favourite to sign £60m-rated Serie A star

Arsenal are now reportedly favourites to sign Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee in the summer after qualifying for European football.

The Gunners are interested in signing the 22-year-old Dutch forward who has netted 11 goals and provided five assists in 34 Serie A games this season.

Having played a crucial role in helping Bologna secure a Champions League slot ahead of the new campaign, the forward has drawn interest from so many clubs across Europe and also in Italy where he currently plays.

The clubs interested in him are Arsenal, Manchester United, Juventus and AC Milan, but according to a report released by Team Talk, The Gunners are the current frontrunners to secure the Netherlands international's signature in the summer, as the forward who prefers going abroad would love to play in the Champions League next season.

The Rossoblu reportedly set the player's price tag at £60m, which effectively rules out Milan and Juventus, giving their financial struggles. With Man Utd and Arsenal the two remaining interested parties who can afford him, the Gunners stand a better chance, as they can offer him UCL football.

Other Arsenal Targets

Zirkzee is not the only striker linked with the Gunners, with current Newcastle Swedish striker, Alexander Isak, and Brentford star Ivan Toney all possible acquisitions. However, it is yet to be known who the Emirates side would likely sign when the summer transfer window opens in June.

Next for Arsenal

The Gunners will be welcoming Everton at the Emirates this weekend, as they look to win their first Premier league title in 20 years, having won it last during the 2003/04 campaign.

Mikel Arteta's men are sitting at the top of the EPL standings on 86 points, one point better than Manchester City who has a game in hand. City play Tottenham Hotspur today and a draw would be enough to put Arsenal's fate in their own hands, going into the final game of the season.
